Inventory Management
Inventory management is currently in beta and is subject to change. If you have any feedback or issues, please contact your account manager.
Introduction
YQueue's inventory management functionality is intended to provide merchants with the ability to automatically suspend the sale of items and modifiers once the in-store stock is depleted. Merchants can choose to manage their inventory on a per item, per modifier and per outlet basis.
Kiosk v3.15.11 (or newer) and OMS v4.0.2 (or newer) support real time inventory updates and management.
Currently YQueue's online/QR ordering does not support real-time inventory (we're working on it), however customers will still be prevented from adding items/modifiers that are out of stock.
Getting Started
To enable inventory management on a specific item or modifier, simply navigate to the item/modifier in the catalogue management page and select the Inventory Management tab. If the item/modifier has not previously been enrolled in the inventory system, press the Set Stock button next to the outlet you wish to manage inventory against. You may optionally enter the quantity that should trigger a low stock notification (more on this below).
Repeat this process for every item/modifier that you wish to management inventory against. Your item/modifier is now enrolled in the inventory system and will automatically be tracked.
Manual Stock Adjustments
YQueue allows merchants to manually adjust stock (for example, recording shrinkage). To manually adjust the stock of an item/modifier, navigate to the Inventory Management tab (see above) and press the Adjust Stock button. Simply enter the adjustment amount and press Confirm.
When performing a manual count, enter the actual on-hand quantity. For all other adjustments, enter the value you wish to adjust the current count by (for example, if three goods were damaged during packaging from the total stock, only enter 3
).
Stock Transfers
For multi-outlet merchants, YQueue supports transferring stock between outlets. To execute a transfer, navigate to the Inventory Management tab (see above), press the arrow next to the Adjust Stock button and press Transfer Stock.
Stock can only be transferred when one or more outlets have the same item/modifier enrolled in the inventory system.
Low Stock Notifications
YQueue's low stock notifications allow merchants to track when specific items/modifiers reach a predefined reordering threshold. To view items/modifiers that have met their low stock notification, visit the Inventory > Low Stock page in the console.
To adjust the low stock notification for an item/modifier that has previously been enrolled, navigate to the Inventory Management tab (see above), press the arrow next to the Adjust Stock button and press Edit Settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when stock is sold out?
When an item/modifier has 0 units available, it transitions to a "Sold Out" state which is communicated to the customer on the menu and during checkout.
Can stock go below 0?
While YQueue doesn't allow you to set the initial stock count below 0, it is possible for an item/modifier to have negative stock in specific situations. YQueue checks for sufficient inventory at multiple points throughout the ordering and payment workflows, however we are not able to automatically reverse a payment if stock becomes unavailable while the customer is processing their payment. In this situation an order that normally wouldn't have sufficient stock for placement is sent to the outlet and the associated inventory is over-sold. If this occurs the merchant can manually trigger a customer refund (which will return the over-sold stock).
